The advantage
of RGBACL.

The Kelvin Play doesn’t use any white LEDs. Instead, we are mixing Red Green Blue Amber Cyan Lime LEDs to produce white light and any color you can imagine.​

“The advantage RGBACL has over RGBWW is that it is capable of giving you a larger CCT range and it can produce more saturated colors with more output. RGBWW lights tend to struggle to create saturated colors like yellow and they don’t always have as much output when generating saturated colors. They can also have a large drop-off in output at different CCT settings.” ​

    Play preorder upgraded to Play Pro.

    I requested to upgrade my original Play order to a Play Pro. I reached out and Casper came back with a coupon code to make everything easy for me to upgrade, so that made this transaction very easy. I wish SNAPBAG products were a little cheaper, but I understand why they cost what they do for the quality that you get.

    Eagerly awaiting these lights

    I initially had a hard time placing an order for two Kelvin Plays and accessories, but after persisting I was able to get my order through. Kelvin reached out to me regarding my order issues, and I really appreciate their help in sorting things out, and to help them iron out ordering issues. Last night I finally made time to look at the initial bundle you gave me. in less than 10 min I had something new to work with! I appreciate “your Sunday class invite” and the fact that like those of us who did not grow up in the USA you grasp the world and its times. So the presentation was at a time I could join.     I was lucky enough to have an protype epos 300 with me for 5 days on a tvseries late last year, it arrived at lunch and was set up and being used as moonlight through a window within minutes. Ease of use is amazing, the menu is very intuitive and responsive. Build quality is good, we chose not to use the case and threw it in a plastic box with a bit of molton in the bottum which worked a charm a…

Ease of use is amazing, the menu is very intuitive and responsive. Build quality is good, we chose not to use the case and threw it in a plastic box with a bit of molton in the bottum which worked a charm after 5 days it still looked like new. The bowens mount and switchable diffusions are useful and easy to use, just be a little careful with some prepriotory bowens mount accesories as they might colid with the light housing and not slide deep enough into the mount, things like the aputure spotlight optics will not work. As a tool I enjoyed working with the light, easy to tune the light to match other sources from HMIs to wonky led bulbs. Its light weight enough to do some creative rigging even with a small crew. I would recommend getting a shorter powercon cable as the included one is just long enough to make throwing the light and controller in a box a little finicky, but if you coil the cables and pack it as intended this shouldnt be a problem. Over all super happy with my experience and looking forward to test the epos on more projects moving forward.

    The Epos 300 is a major step up in quality compared to other brands/lights I am regularly using. So many little details are engineered to last, it really feels like a premium product. Also, the app is the easiest and most user friendly I have used in terms of connectivity and features. And, of course, the light quality is top notch.

    I got to say, I was really impressed by my new Kelvin light. I’d never heard of the brand, but I was lucky enough to try out a pre-production unit, and I’m so glad I did. I mean, the build quality and industrial look blew me away. Not to mention the colour range of the LED-lights. Cool stuff, Kelvin. Can’t wait to see how your product range will evolve in the future.
