I had the pleasure of using two Epos 300 lights for a photo project. I had the pleasure of using two Epos 300 lights for a photo project. This was a complicated shoot, with multiple lighting scenarios to match the different outfits, and we had a short amount of time to complete the full shoot. Looking past the good-looking design and quality of the lights themselves – what stood out features to me was the quality of light – especially when shooting high-saturation coloured light. Rich, deeply saturated colours, from a system that behaved in such a way that it let me focus on creating, not having to deal with complex technical trickery. Their app was easy to use and I love not having to create an account and sign-in to be able to adjust lights. I could quickly jump from light to light and make adjustments. Overall impression: It is the best light quality I have seen from any LED lights.

Ease of use is amazing, the menu is very intuitive and responsive. Build quality is good, we chose not to use the case and threw it in a plastic box with a bit of molton in the bottum which worked a charm after 5 days it still looked like new. The bowens mount and switchable diffusions are useful and easy to use, just be a little careful with some prepriotory bowens mount accesories as they might colid with the light housing and not slide deep enough into the mount, things like the aputure spotlight optics will not work. As a tool I enjoyed working with the light, easy to tune the light to match other sources from HMIs to wonky led bulbs. Its light weight enough to do some creative rigging even with a small crew. I would recommend getting a shorter powercon cable as the included one is just long enough to make throwing the light and controller in a box a little finicky, but if you coil the cables and pack it as intended this shouldnt be a problem. Over all super happy with my experience and looking forward to test the epos on more projects moving forward.
